FiR Audio was founded in 2018 by brothers Bogdan and Alex Belonozhko, along with their friend Daniel Lifflander, and yes, the family name is exactly the connection it looks like. Bogdan Belonozhko previously served as CEO of 64 Audio (founded by their brother Vitaliy), so between them the founding team brought more than twenty years of hands-on IEM design and manufacturing experience straight into a brand-new company rather than starting from scratch.
That experience showed up quickly. FiR Audio's first product line, the M-Series, launched in 2019 and built the brand's reputation around genuinely open, tubeless drivers, along with proprietary features like the ATOM venting system (for pressure relief and comfort) and Direct Aperture Acoustics, which shapes how sound reaches the ear without relying on internal sound tubes. In 2021, the Frontier Series pushed further with the flagship Xenon 6, Krypton 5, and Neon 4, introducing Kinetic Bass (a hybrid conduction approach to low-end that doesn't rely purely on a sealed chamber), an upgraded ATOM XS module, and a fully Open Acoustics System built around open drivers rather than the tubed designs most IEMs still use.
FiR Audio has also gone after a problem almost no other IEM maker addresses directly: keeping the things clean. Their IEM Vac and IEM Dryer are dedicated maintenance tools built specifically for the moisture and debris that build up inside a custom or universal earpiece over time, an unusually practical product category from a brand otherwise focused on chasing flagship-level sound.
Between the driver engineering and the RCX connector system built for real-world durability, FiR Audio reads less like a startup finding its footing and more like a team of veterans who already knew exactly which problems in high-end IEM design were worth solving next.
