About this collection

Lotoo was founded in Beijing in 1999 as the professional audio arm of Beijing Infomedia Electronic Technology, China's largest supplier of broadcast automation systems, the software and hardware that keeps radio and TV stations running. For nearly two decades before ever selling a consumer product, Lotoo built its reputation designing broadcast and studio recording equipment, including work as an original design manufacturer for Swiss recorder maker Nagra, engineering discipline that most consumer audio brands simply don't have in their history.

That professional foundation is what Lotoo brought with it when it entered the consumer digital audio player market with the PAW Gold in 2014. The story goes that the company's founder built it because nothing else on the market satisfied him, and whether or not that's exactly how it happened, the resulting player, quirky, button-driven, with no touchscreen, but sonically uncompromising, earned a genuine cult following among audiophiles who cared more about measured performance than modern conveniences. Lotoo has kept building on that reputation since, through the PAW 5000, PAW6000, and the current flagship PAW GT2, all running Lotoo's own in-house LTOS operating system and proprietary ATE (Acoustic Timbre Embellisher) DSP processing.

More recently, Lotoo introduced LTTP, the Lotoo Teleportation Protocol, a proprietary lossless wireless connection within the Lotoo ecosystem that streams up to 96kHz/24-bit audio, well beyond what standard Bluetooth codecs can carry, bringing that same broadcast-grade engineering mindset to wireless listening rather than treating it as an afterthought.

The result is a brand that approaches portable audio the way a broadcast engineer would: measurement-driven, unglamorous on the surface, and built by people who spent decades making sure professional audio equipment simply worked, correctly, every time.
