Questyle M12i

The Questyle M12i Portable USB DAC & Headphone Amp is a pocket-sized dongle that brings Questyle's Current Mode Amplification technology to your phone or laptop. That matters because most dongle DACs use op-amp chips that limit clean power output. Questyle's patented current mode design delivers 0.0003% THD and genuinely low distortion, not just marketing specs. The ESS ES9281AC DAC decodes up to PCM 384kHz/32-bit and DSD256, and the whole thing works plug-and-play with Android, Windows, Mac, and iOS.

The Questyle M12i includes smart impedance detection that automatically adjusts gain based on what you plug in. Under 70 ohms, it runs low gain with a green indicator. Above 70 ohms, it switches to high gain with a red light. Above 600 ohms, it outputs a 2Vrms line signal. This means you get the right power and noise floor whether you are using sensitive IEMs or full-size planar magnetic headphones. It also includes MQA rendering, so the LED glows magenta when decoding MQA files if you still stream from Tidal or have an MQA library.

At 51mm long and machined from anodized aluminum, the M12i is genuinely portable. No bulky battery, no separate charging cable.
