The iFi Hip-Dac 3 has more than enough power to drive most headphones, and as far as I am aware, ALL IEMs. On top of that, it is tiny. And simple. Plug it into your phone or your computer and you have an impressive setup wherever you go. If you are an IEM user it features IEM match to ensure that there is no noise when used with your sensitive balanced armature IEMs, and it has “Power Match,” which as far as I can tell is a clean gain booster. It also has Bass Boost, if you enjoy boosted bass. All in all, iFi Hip-Dac 3 is a no-brainer for long time head-fi enthusiasts who want a portable DAC/amp for on the go or for beginners who want to improve their computer or phone audio.
The iFi Hip-Dac 3 boasts circuit enhancements, including new metal film capacitors for a better frequency response. Additionally, an updated version of iFi’s GMT circuitry, coupled with a new crystal oscillator, further reduces phase noise, delivering a purer sound to you.

The hip-dac 3 features a true balanced circuit design, reducing distortion for purer, more captivating sound. With high-quality components, including a custom iFi OV op-amp and Texas Instruments power IC, it delivers up to 400mW into 32-ohm headphones and 6.3V for high-impedance headphones from the balanced output.

The hip-dac 3 supports up to 32-bit/384kHz audio via its USB-C input, with an asynchronous design for jitter-free data transfer. It offers a 3.5mm single-ended outputwith S-Balanced circuitry and a 4.4mm balanced output, along with a 2,200mAh battery providing up to 12 hours of playtime.
